Quick Trip to Penn's Woods

I traveled home to Pennsylvania for the first time in two years! The autumn leaves were beautiful and the air was cold and crisp. While there I bought my new camera and saw some wonderful people to use my new camera on:

Here is my dad, Andy Kernitz, with a new air conditioning unit. Andy Kernitz fixes things and drinks beer. This is his story. It inspires the world.

Here is my grandmom and Mary Ann in grandmoms Home Makeover Edition Kitchen. Heating up those famous meatballs.

Kari and Josh in pop-art form. In their inspiring home in Germantown. Kari, Josh and I visited Wawa. It was amazing.

This is Marshall McMish of the Michell Marshton
Mallow Mash. Marshalton has been sitting on things for several years.

Southbound

My journey begins tomorrow! I recently left my life in San Francisco to go traveling in warmer weather for a couple of months, or longer. Tomorrow I will travel to North Carolina to join with three friends for a month long sailing voyage to the Bahamas. We will spend the next week prepping and provisioning Arcturus, my friends Pacific Seacraft sailboat. Four of us will depart from Oriental, North Carolina around December 1st to the warm islands of the Bahamas. From there we will spend a couple of weeks island hopping, swimming, relaxing, and breaking in Daniels new boat!

I have packed my foul weather gear, DeLorme GPS unit, SPOT Locator, a backpackers hammock, bathing suits, a knife, and a towel. To hitchhike across the galaxy or across the oceans, you always need a towel. I packed a couple of other things too, including socks.

From the Bahamas, I plan to go where the wind blows. I have a couple of options, but am keeping my plans and schedule open to possibilities as they appear along the way. My travel goals are to: learn more about sailing, see cool animals, learn some spanish, and spend some time walking.

I will try to keep this blog updated with pictures and my reactions as life and daily adventures unravel. Wish me luck and see you all on land sometime soon!
